Critic Reviews for A Total War Saga: TROY - Mythos
Mythos is a fresh layer of paint for Troy, but also feels like the first step towards an exciting evolution for the Total War series.
Much more than just a flashy upgrade and the inclusion of mythical units, Mythos breathes new life into A Total War Saga: Troy, giving it the opportunity to reach out to players who may have been put off by the historical tint and narrower focus of the base game. Here monsters and legends serve to make battles more interesting, campaigns more dynamic, and of course, war more fun. Leading Ajax in a duel against Hector while Gryphons battle Hydra is modern Total War at its best.
A Total War Saga: Troy - Mythos is far from flawless, but still a solid addition which builds on some of the features of the base game.
The addition of mythical forces has improved the playability of the game, and their characteristics can spawn many different tactics.

Mythos might slip up here and there regarding Total War Saga: Troy base mechanics when it comes to the mystical creatures, but the introduction of new unit types — offering a much needed army composition variety — puts the game at its best since its debut back in 2020.

Total War Saga: TROY is an attractive game that will captivate a variety of users and shows beautiful visuals, but the lack of scalability in the background of the mythical era makes it difficult to reach a completely popular game. However, through this expansion pack Mythos, the game has overcome many of its previous limitations.
