Critic Reviews for Agatha Christie - Murder on the Orient Express
Murder on the Orient Express is impressive in its ability to breathe new life into a well-trodden story. Microids Studio Lyon has found a cute gap in the story to slide in its new character, Locke, without her getting in the way. Her tense and serious segments free up Poirot for a bit of comic relief, and the whole game sits with a relaxed atmosphere and pleasant presentation. Puzzles are mixed, but there are enough good ones to drive another enjoyable trip through Agatha Christie's classic story of mystery, justice, and moral ambiguity.
Agatha Christie – Murder on the Orient Express succeeds in providing a faithful adaptation. At the same time gives a fresh and satisfying face to an old classic with fun gameplay and quirky, loveable characters and creative puzzles. The atmosphere gives great immersion and really get you in detective mode.
Nevertheless, this refreshed iteration of Murder on the Orient Express is a joy to play. The inclusion of new content and the unique modern setting really make for a very fun time. Small issues can’t mar the fact that this is ultimately a very enjoyable case to crack.
Agatha Christie – Murder on the Orient Express is a timid attempt to modernize a classic of world literature. Aesthetically old with poorly implemented game mechanics I can't make this game shine.

Agatha Christie: Murder on the Orient Express modernizes a classic. However, the original additions did not always convince us.

Agatha Christie - Murder on the Orient Express is a good adventure and a faithful adaptation of the timeless classic of mystery, but it settles for just that. On the narrative front, despite some deviations from the original story, there are no standout twists that make this adaptation better than the many others offered in the past; as for the gameplay, the game does what is expected from a graphic adventure, without going above and beyond. This is not necessarily a flaw, but from an adaptation of a mystery masterpiece of this caliber, one might have expected something more.

Agatha Christie - Murder on the Orient Express offers an excellent mystery, but not much in the way of good gameplay. Often dull and tedious, it's hard to recommend.
Solving a compelling mystery is always rewarding, and Agatha Christie – Murder on the Orient Express absolutely nails the thrill of stepping into the shoes of a celebrated detective. Allowing you to take the lead on a intriguing case, Microids’ latest visit with Poirot gives players just the right amount of agency, presenting us with a varied and engaging mixture of puzzles to solve. Add to the mix pleasing visuals, good voice acting and a story that’s worth sticking around for, and you’ve got a very good mystery game indeed.
