Critic Reviews for Aliens vs. Pinball
Aliens vs. Pinball is great, both as a novelty and as a serious set of tables. Whether you're just a fan of Aliens stuff and like the idea of a fun way to kill a few minutes here and there, or the kind of fanatic that will obsess over a table, playing over and over again to complete all the objectives and set a massive score, you can't go wrong.
The Aliens table is the star out of the three here with its creepy tone, selectable missions and the perfect mix of challenge.
ZEN Pinball fans should get this pack immediately, and Alien fans will enjoy the content that is here. These are some really well made pinball tables wrapped around one of the best horror/sci-fi franchises ever created.
Zen Studios has a knack for creating licensed pinball tables. With this outing, they've managed to capture the feel of Alien while also making three fun pinball tables that will keep you playing for months to come.
The animations and voice acting on this table are really first class. I was very impressed because the table does a great job of capturing the Aliens film in playable form, and hopefully you have a lot of fun with this table. It was very fun doing this Aliens Pinball review, and I’ll definitely keep playing this table for a while!
Overall, the Aliens vs. Pinball package is another worthy addition to the Pinball FX 2 library. All of the tables are balanced nicely for loads of scoring opportunities, and there are lots of distinct elements in each one to bring you back for one more round. Most will gravitate toward the Aliens table, but there's enough quality in the other two to make them worthwhile. Even if Alien day is never repeated again, at least players have this nice set of pinballs tables to commemorate it.
Fans of 'Aliens,' myself included, should be pleased when they see Ripley and co in action in a pinball setting. It certainly makes me think of the heyday of licensed pinball tables. And that's just the beginning as the two other tables in the 'Aliens vs. Pinball' pack make for a great set with a nice degree of design and presentation variety.
It's great to see Zen branch out into such an iconic and timeless movie franchise for Zen Pinball 2: Aliens vs. Pinball, while staying completely faithful to the source material at the same time. These tables look and feel like the respective Alien titles each one is based on, all helped along by scenarios and sound clips right out of the movies and game. Of course, there are difficulties in trying to get the ball where you want, when you want on each table, but that is the nature of pinball, anyway. Needless to say, this well-designed package, offering a lot of variety, is more than worth the admission fee for tables that will entertain fans of the Alien legacy.
