I thoroughly enjoyed my experience with Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition, and I'm already thinking of challenging a few friends in the near future. Nintendo has used its creativity to bring back its classics and give them a fun and original alternative. I hope the company will use this to resume competitions, and that an SNES Edition will soon follow.

Luigi's Mansion 2 HD is still an excellent game worth playing in 2024. Although the 3rd title in the series is superior, there are a few elements that still make it interesting, such as the mission-based division, the rankings and the zany ghosts. What's more, this re-release takes full advantage of its new coat of paint, which looks great on the Switch's big screen or OLED display. The transition from the 3DS to the Switch has been done very well here, and the right adjustments have been made. In short, if you haven't already, this is the best version available, and a great little summer game.

Ninja Theory and Xbox Game Studios deliver the kind of narrative experience I've been waiting for. Admittedly, I'd have liked it to be a little longer, but the studio has done a good job of fine-tuning the gameplay of its series, while raising the visuals to a level that places them among the very best. I hope that Xbox will now use Ninja Theory's expertise to offer more memorable experiences like this one in the near future.

Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door is still my favorite of the series. Not only is it the best title, it's also the most complete, thanks in no small part to its endearing characters. I hope Nintendo will continue in this slightly more purist direction for JRPG fans. It's the kind of experience that offers a lot for the money, and this reissue is a great success.

Endless Ocean Luminous is a deeply relaxing diving experience. The amount of research that went through the game is very impressive. However, the slow campaign progression and the lack of interactions with the creatures handicap the overall experience.

Harold Halibut is not a game for everyone. The pace is slow, especially at the beginning, and the many trips back and forth between stations often seem very long. On the other hand, if you're a fan of narrative adventures like me, and enjoy discovering highly-developed characters, this is a very nice surprise. Slow Bros. succeeded in transporting me into its unique-looking universe and absorbing me completely.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is a great success that met my expectations, even though they were very high. It's impressive to see how the developers have managed to integrate the open-world aspect while modernizing it. What's more, the quantity and quality of the secondary activities make discovering the universe more fun than ever. And it's all done naturally, allowing us to constantly improve our team. Last but not least, everything complements the excellent story, which will leave no one indifferent. It's definitely a contender for Game of the Year, honoring the excellence of the original work.

we regret not having discovered Cocoon at the same time as the rest of the industry last September. However, it's not too late, which is why it recently made our list of great discoveries on the Nintendo Switch. This is an excellent first title for the Geometric Interactive studio, and we'll definitely continue to follow Jeppe Carlsen and his team in the future.

Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is one of the best adventures in the series. If, like me, you've been dreaming of playing both Ichiban and Kiryu, you won't be disappointed. It's also the title with the most things to do in the entire series. Scenario-wise, it's still high on emotion and full of twists and turns, some more predictable than others. For my part, apart from the main antagonists who are a little less interesting, the game as a whole remains one of the best, if not the best, in the collection to date.

Mario vs. Donkey Kong is a good addition to the Nintendo Switch library. Without being a masterpiece or a must-have, it's a good little game at a lower cost while we wait for flagship releases like Princess Peach: Showtime! or Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. What's more, it's not just a simple remake, and Nintendo has done what it takes to bring the series back to life.

Arc System Works delivers an entire retelling of the DS/Wii compilation of Another Codes games with enhanced visuals and modernized gameplay. The story is particularly well written and addresses some mature subject. We hope to see more of Ashley in the future.

Dragon Quest Monsters: Prince of Shadows has a few things going for it, but overall I found it rather average. I'm a long-time fan of the main series, and I don't think this one can hold a candle to Dragon Quest XI. If you're looking for a game in this genre, you'd be better served by a Shin Megami Tensei V or a Persona 5.

In closing, I really enjoyed this new chapter in the series. I think it fills in any gaps left by the approach of the 8th installment. The final section of Like a Dragon Gaiden is particularly satisfying and emotionally charged. In short, another excellent action game from Ryū Ga Gotoku Studio that also comes with a demo of the next title that sets the table nicely. What's more, if you've been waiting for the English dub, it's now available. So, if you're a fan of the series, this really is a must-have, and for the rest of us, what are you waiting for to get started?

Alan Wake 2 is a great success that proves that patience has paid off for Remedy Entertainment. The game is of the highest artistic, narrative and gameplay quality. If your nerves are strong enough, and you're a fan of horror and survival games, this is one of the best. However, I strongly recommend that you play the first game to understand all the subtleties. In short, for me this is a game that will make my TOP 3 this year, which is no mean feat in a year so rich in high-quality video games.

Tales of Arise: Beyond the Dawn didn't meet all my expectations, but I'm glad I did. I really enjoyed this chapter in the Tales series, so I was very happy to return to it 2 years later. I think the stage is set for a real sequel, and Nazamil's new character should be a central part of it. So, if you're thirsty to go back, go ahead with the DLC. Otherwise, you're not missing out on anything completely unmissable.

In conclusion, I'm impressed by what KO_OP has delivered as a first experience. I'm a big fan of narrative games, and this one is among the very good ones. I would have liked more, because you get through the 8 chapters in about 5 to 6 hours, and I got really attached to the characters. It's always possible to go back to make other choices or to find the flashbacks and memories hidden in the story, but I felt I'd completed my experience. All in all, if you're a fan of Life is Strange or Telltale Games, Goodbye Volcano High is a strong recommendation.

In conclusion, this remake of Super Mario RPG is exactly what I was hoping for. Everything is as I remembered it, but with modern visuals and some gameplay improvements. It's shorter than I remembered, but I think that's thanks to the extra accessibility elements and the fact that I know a bit more about the genre than I did back then. Plus, if you want to introduce someone to the genre, there's an easier mode to enjoy the story. What's more, the game is entirely in French, so everyone will be able to understand it. In short, it's a great success, and I hope Nintendo will finally consider a sequel.

WarioWare: Move It! is a really fun party game that makes great use of the Joy-Con to come up with a wide variety of very original mini games. Although the story is a bit short and the characters underused, the multiplayer makes it a worthwhile addition to any household with more than one player.

This Bed We Made offers a great narrative that completely absorbs the player into discovering each of its mysteries. The game addresses a lot of serious themes of the 50s in brilliant ways which makes the story even more believable. What it lacks in visuals, it definitely compensate with great story-telling which is the most important element in my opinion anyway.

Super Mario Bros. Wonder is another excellent Nintendo Switch title that shows the company is still able to come up with brilliant new ideas. I loved every single hours spent in this new 2D Mario world and I hope there's more content coming in the near futur. There's no reason to hesitate, this is one of the best games of the console.
