Critic Reviews for Strange Brigade - Isle of the Dead
The first story-based DLC for Strange Brigade is out now and is a must buy for fans of the game. Isle Of The Dead is part one of the Thrice Damned campaign, and while it introduces a few new elements, it doesn't stray far from the formula that made the game so much fun in the first place.
Like the base game, it's a no-frills experience, but this time a few frills would've been welcome.
If you haven't already played the game, then there's not that much here that will make you rush out and get it, but for £7.99, nobody was really expecting that. If, like me, you really enjoyed the old-school romp as it was initially conceived, then this is more of the same with a little garnish to boot.
Isle of the Dead is a good DLC with plenty of reason to replay a few times in order to collect and claim everything, but the limitations of online only co-op, with an already diminishing community, have already started to shine through
Strange Brigade - The Thrice Damned 1: Isle of the Dead is a solid addition to the game being generally just another level.
All in all – and I hate finishing reviews like this but there’s no real other way of saying it – if you got something out of the main game, you’re going to want to dip in here. It’s nothing more, nothing less than exactly what you’ve already played, just more of it. And seeing as we’re big fans of Strange Brigade, that’s absolutely fine by us.
Fingers crossed that Rebellion can continue this run of form with the next few content drops.
