Battlezone looks good and controls well, but offline there’s nothing to think about besides shoot, shoot, shoot, which in this case just doesn’t provide enough of a good time to be enjoyable for long.
I've enjoyed most of Battleborn's campaign during my initial playthrough, though it's mostly due to the handiwork of the insane playable characters than the drab enemies and stages. The unlocks both near (in-match leveling) and far (unlocking new characters) have kept me anticipating each new campaign level attempt, though I wish said campaign were just a bit more exciting and varied. Hopefully some time with competitive multiplayer will make my upgrades and unlocks come even faster.
I’m enjoying Godfall, even if it’s not doing much to wow me and the repetition of its missions is wearing a bit thin. It’s got some fun and satisfying combat, a few genuinely novel mechanics, and graphics that range from absolutely gorgeous to a little over the top – but unless its thin story morphs into more than an excuse to go stab stuff, the grindable action-looter structure doesn't seem like it has enough variety to sustain its otherwise expansive customization.
The Day Before is easily one of the worst games I’ve ever played, to the point where I’m afraid to continue running it on my PC – and if you didn’t manage to try it, you can count yourself as one of the lucky ones.
Sorry, rugby fans, this is a horrible, rushed release punted out the door in time for the World Cup.
The Walking Dead: Destinies is an insult not only to the TV show it poorly attempts to emulate, but to modern gaming in general.
Flashback 2 is not a blast from the past – it’s a total misfire.
Testament: The Order of High Human is a bland, frustrating, and buggy fantasy adventure that would have been a bad four-hour Skyrim knockoff. At 40 hours, it’s hard to bear.
FIFA 23 on Switch is a prime example of minimal effort for maximum profit.
Postal 4: No Regerts is cringingly juvenile and painful to play in between all the times it's hard crashing.
CrossfireX's multiplayer modes aren't worth the price you'll pay…and it's free-to-play.
Nerf Legends is a broken, painful slog that you shouldn't even consider playing as a joke.
FIFA 22: Legacy Edition on Nintendo Switch is another infuriating release in the series.
Waking tries to take the best of many different genres but creates a horrible mess of clashing, ugly parts.
The Culling 2 is nothing more than a weak imitation of PUBG and H1Z1.
Rugby 15 has more bugs than Starship Troopers and is messier than school-yard mugby.
Shallow, unresponsive, and unoriginal, The Fighter Within embodies the worst of what Kinect has to offer.
With its unfair gameplay and messy combat, Natural Doctrine is nothing more than a tedious, rage-inducing nightmare.
Aggravating hack-and-slash combat and surprisingly sparse jokes make South Park: Snow Day! dull, toothless, and a big step in the wrong direction for South Park games.
A disappointing mix of ideas that ends as an exhausting Temple Run clone, Atomic Heart: Trapped in Limbo gets less fun the longer it goes goes on.
