Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness is flat-out disappointing, from its bland cast and story to its problematic battle system and recycled content
The story is fascinating, but the gameplay quickly becomes humdrum and the technical problems are extremely frustrating
With gorgeous visuals and fun combat, The World Next Door holds plenty of promise, but it never evolves into something satisfying
Moebius is a great throwback to old-school, point-and-click adventure games, but it has plenty of unexciting puzzles and wasted potential
Escaping prison should be more exciting than this. Strategizing is fun, but the amount of repetition gets tiresome
This DLC has a lot of recycled material, and the payoff for trudging through it again is low
The Council has an alluring premise with interesting choices and consequences. However, it falls apart with absurd plot twists, tedious backtracking, and unexciting puzzles
Secret of Mana's retelling is full of highs and lows. The colorful world and boss battles still hold their allure, but the overall execution feels average (at best)
The combat is fun and the plot takes some interesting turns, but that doesn't change the frustrating design and tediousness
The Westport Independent is amusing, but I wish it had more depth
Tales of Zestiria has some good ideas, but the experience is underwhelming and disappointing
Episode 4 wraps up some mysteries, but leaves you with even more questions, enticing you to stay on the turbulent ride
This episode sets the stage for the season's conclusion, but it needs more action and surprises
While the second episode is flawed, I'm still invested in these characters and curious how things will turn out
Pretty visuals can only get you far, however, and Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising doesn’t offer enough entertaining or unique content to keep it from being anything more than a passable RPG. At the very least, it introduces the Eiyuden world and some characters involved in Hundred Heroes, but that’s very little incentive for putting up with tedious gameplay and boilerplate characters.
The Sims 4 is still fun with plenty of cool tweaks, but it feels somewhat empty without much innovation
NBA 2K21 still delivers the thrill of being on the court and producing spectacular plays, but it lacks innovation and fresh ideas
Planet Zoo has a lot of ambition and depth, but it often comes at too high a cost
After following Clementine for years, her final outing shows how far she has come. Sadly, a major plot hole diminishes the power and satisfaction of this conclusion
With predictable moments and repetitive storylines, the season premiere isn't all that exciting. Hopefully, future episodes have more surprises and intriguing developments in store
