While cute and cozy, Kamaeru can definitely become frustrating if played for longer periods of time with little variation in gameplay.
Pixel Cafe is fun but it is not especially ground-breaking. Fans of time managament simulators will most likely enjoy the experience.
With a creepy atmosphere, lo-fi graphics and classic farming sim mechanics, Harvest Island is the perfect fall game for any cozy gamer.
Hidden Through Time 2: Myths and Magic is an adorable hidden objects game with light story and cute sprites. It captures the joy of the first game really well and is perfect for any fan of the genre.
A Tiny Sticker Tale is full of so much joy and is one of the most heartwarming games I have played in a long time.
Fae Farm is a delightful game with a fun story and cozy atmosphere that just falls short when it comes to some classic farming sim elements.
While there is not much in the way of gameplay, Sticky Business brings out the joy of being able to freely create.
Fall of Porcupine is a beautiful and haunting narrative game drenched in mystery that any cozy game fan will love.
I would go as far as to say that this is not a game but a masterpiece: meant to be observed and appreciated rather than played with. I did not want to put it down or look away and when it ended, I longed for more of the story. Even going about Mimi’s daily life with her Grandma, however insignificant it may seem in the grand scheme of things, filled me with a pleasant warmth. Umanimation and Un je ne sais quoi should be incredibly proud of the work they have produced, and I look forward to seeing what they come out with next.
Daydream: Forgotten Sorrow is an interesting game with some good narrative elements if you are looking for them. If you are a fan of puzzle platformers then it is probably worth a go, the mechanics are not especially unique but there are some truly enjoyable moments in there. If you are not a fan of the genre, the game is probably not for you. It sticks firmly to its roots very rarely deviating from the model of solving the puzzle and moving to the next room.
ghostpia is a beautiful experience, and an unfinished one with the potential for season two hovering in the distance, but considering the high price and amount of reading necessary, it is not something I can recommend to most people. For gamers who enjoy reading or art, it may be worth the investment: there is a lot of content, with each of the five chapters being split into two halves and the entire story is intriguing. However, if you do not find yourself able to focus on a book or get easily distracted, ghostpia is likely not for you.
Amanda the Adventurer is a unique and enjoyable horror puzzle game that is worth playing through. It's short and not too challenging but has a strong sense of itself and tells a good story.
Plantera 2: Golden Acorn brings so much joy and love to the classic idle clicker with cute graphics, cheerful music and a dedicated developer.
Terra Nil puts a cute and quirky twist on the classic city builder and completing each level feels truly rewarding. It is well worth looking into for any cozy games fan.
