Monster Hunter: World is getting into the holiday spirit with the Winter Star Fest and Holiday Joy Fest.
The festivities in Monster Hunter: World begin on December 20th. Those playing the title can partake in the Winter Star Fest at the Astera Gathering Hub, while those who have reached Master Rank in the game's expansion, Iceborne, can celebrate in the Seliana Gathering Hub.
During both events, players will be able to hunt for seasonal rewards. The main reward is the Snowman item, which can only be obtained in Iceborne. Players can take this item to any hunting locale and "build" a snowman complete with a face, hat, holiday lights. and a scarf. Players on that quest can get together around the snowman and partake in snowball fights. If enough hits are landed on a hunter, they will get a silly snowman head of their own. The snowman can be placed anywhere, including the Volcanic region.
Gamers will be able to craft event armor to help celebrate the holidays. The event armor is the Oolong set for hunters and the Shishi-mai costume for Palicoes. Other pieces of equipment debuting during the holiday events include the Mad Scavenger Pickaxe (long sword), Duffel Penguin Mask (Headgear), Sealed Dragon Cloth (Headgear), and the Buff Body (Armor Set).
Finally, The third and final round of the Horizon Zero Dawn: The Frozen Wilds collaboration will start on December 26th. Completing the "Firebreak" quest will allow players to craft the Banuk armor set, upgrade Aloy's Bow into the Master Rank Aloy's Adept War Bow and craft the Master Rank Palico Watcher Set.
