Another casting has been made for The Last of Us.
It seems another casting for the upcoming TV adaptation of The Last of Us has been made. According to Deadline, Nico Parker will be featured in the TV series. According to the report, she will be playing Joel's daughter. Parker played Colin Farrell's daughter In Disney's live-action adaptation of Dumbo. The actress also played a role in HBO's The Third Day. She will be seen in Reminiscence, where she will appear opposite of her mother, Thandiwe Newton.
Parker will be joining a star-studded cast in The Last of Us. She will be starring alongside Pedro Pascal of The Mandalorian fame, as well as Bella Ramsey from Game of Thrones. Pascal will play Joel, While Ramsey will be playing Ellie. It has also been announced that Gabriel Luna will be playing Tommy, and that Merle Dandridge will be reprising her role as Marlene, whom she voiced for both The Last of Us and The Last of US Part II.
The Last of Us will be co-executive produced by Chernobyl's Craig Mazin and Naughty Dog's Neil Druckmann. Druckmann, who wrote and directed both The Last of Us and The Last of Us Part II, will be penning the script for the HBO series. The show will be directed by Russian filmmaker Kantemir Balagov. Balagov is known for directing the dramas Closeness and Beanpole, both of which earned the director numerous awards. The Last of Us is expected to cover the events of the first game, though there has been word that parts of the second game will make their way into the show. It is unknown how closely the TV show will adapt the video games.
The Last of Us will be released by HBO. The Last of Us Part II is available now for the PlayStation 4. The game received a PlayStation 5 patch last month.
