Splatoon 3's World Championship took place between April 13 to April 14 earlier this year, which was postponed due to the cancelation of Nintendo Live, bringing together six teams from across the globe to duke it out for the title. It was, unsurprisingly, a pretty competitive event, which ultimately ended in US side Jackpot beating Japanese side Phantom Thief of Heart in the final, crowning Jackpot as this year's world champions.
Fast-forward a little over three months, and Jackpot now finds itself vilified among the Splatoon community, as the team has now had their win revoked by Nintendo following the discovery of several extremely racist comments made by multiple members. Jackpot's comments surfaced on social media back in June, just two months after the team's win, and were collected by Twitter user Adaptability.
