Pyra and Mythra are releasing today for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
During a character deep-dive presentation, it was announced that Pyra and Mythra will be released for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate today, March 4th. Pyra and Mythra hail from Xenoblade Chronicles 2. The two-in-one character come with their own stage, entitled Cloud Sea of Alrest. In this stage, players can see other Xenoblade Chronicles 2 characters appear in the background cheering. While Pyra and Mythra are a part of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's Fighters Pass Vol. 2, they can be purchased on their own.
It was announced that Pyra and Mythra would be joining Super Smash Bros. Ultimate last month. The two characters work similarly to how Sheik and Zelda used to operate, in that they are able to transform into each other in the midst of battle. Each character will have their own set of moves, as well as their own Final Smashes. Pyra's Final Smash is called Burning Sword, while Mythra's is called Sacred Arrow. Rex will assist both characters when they perform their Final Smashes.
Pyra and Mythra are the fourth character pack to be released for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate through the Fighters Pass Vol. 2. They come after Sephiroth from Final Fantasy VII, Steve from Minecraft, and Min Min from Arms. The Fighter Pass Vol. 2 is available for $29.99, though characters can be purchased on their own for $5.99. There are still two more characters coming to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate through the Fighters Pass Vol. 2, though it is unknown who those characters will be. It has been announced before that all of the characters in the Fighters Pass Vol. 2 will be released before December 31st, 2021. It is unknown if there will be a Fighters Pass Vol. 3 in the future.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is available now for the Nintendo Switch.
