Red Dead Online will soon be its own standalone game.

Rockstar Games has announced that Red Dead Online will soon be its own game. Red Dead Online will no longer be free, and will be available to purchase on the PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store, Rockstar Games Launcher, Epic Games Store, and Steam on December 1st. This will allow gamers to play Red Dead Online without having to own Red Dead Redemption 2

Red Dead Online will cost typically $19.99. However, those who purchase the game by February 15th, 2021 will receive a 75% discount, and only pay $4.99. Those playing on the PlayStation 4 / PlayStation 5 will need PlayStation Plus, while those playing on the Xbox One / Xbox Series X/S will need Xbox Live Gold in order to play the title. Red Dead Online will take up 123 GB of hard drive space. Players will have the option to purchase Red Dead Redemption 2: Story Mode separately, though it was not mentioned how much the mode will cost.

An expansion to the Bounty Hunter Role will be released alongside Red Dead Online. There will be more criminals to hunt down, as well as Prestigious level equipment and skills to unlock across 10 more Bounty Hunter ranks. There will also be new Legendary Bounties for players to take on, and a 100 Rank Outlaw Pass. Those who are new to the game can meet up with the Legendary Bounty Hunter in Rhodes to get a Bounty Hunter License and get started. As an added bonus, all Bounty Hunter missions completed this week in Red Dead Online will reward double XP.

Red Dead Online will be its own game on December 1st. It will be available for PC, PlayStation 4 , and Xbox One. The game will be playable on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S through backwards compatibility.
