Celeste Reviews
A charming precision platformer with a pleasant story about mental health. Gorgeous graphics, beautiful music, and fantastic platforming had me coming back for more despite my thousand deaths.
A new entry but also one of the best platformers of all time. Celeste is special, it presents hard challenges, great story, but also has the ability for anyone to beat it. Definitely worth playing.
Even without embracing that duality, Celeste would be an exceptionally well-made platformer worthy of sitting alongside its titanic peers, but by caring to find the right amount of warmth to balance its barbs, it ends up standing up and taking a step ahead.
Celeste gets absolutely everything right. It has surprising audiovisuals, innovative gameplay and an inspiring story. Breaking the fourth wall constantly, it deals with current topics and makes the player embark on a beautiful rollercoaster of feelings, therefore being so immersive. It's indispensable to any player.

Frankly, I should have bought Celeste a long time ago, but I’m glad I finally made my way the mountain. It’s a perfect example of why I love both indies and platformers. It’s also easily the best platformer I’ve played this year. For $19.99 you get a robust package full of challenge, heart and mystery. This small cast of characters really charmed me, and the gameplay itself was pitch perfect. Though I played it with the default settings, you can turn on many helpful features to make things a bit easier. I had gotten about 1300 deaths and 81 strawberries the first time I beat the game, and since starting this review I’ve already added plenty more to both tallies. I honestly love this indie gem, and can’t recommend it highly enough. Go do yourself a favor and climb this mountain!

As most indie-keen gamers already know, Celeste is a phenomenal 2D platformer.
If you like demanding platforms, which demand more from the player than good reflexes and mashing buttons, and are willing to spend time fitting the little details and clues that Celeste hides behind tremendously solid and satisfying mechanics, the mountain will reward you handsomely. Essential.

Celeste is the complete package with well crafted gameplay, a unique presentation, and a touching story—one of the best games of 2018
Even from an objective standpoint, I honestly can't think of a part of Celeste I didn't like.
Celeste blends old gameplay ideas with progressive story telling and the results are nothing short of amazing.
A poignant tale that tackles a sensitive subject matter. Celeste is not only a challenging platformer, it is also an emotionally powerful story about dealing with the struggles of mental illness.
Celeste is an unexpectedly great combination of genres and touching story about finding yourself, a true 2D masterpiece. Both Super Meat Boy lovers and Metroidvania fans will enjoy it.

Celeste is an beautiful, optimistic game about how triumph can outweigh any number of failures . It's about reconciling your pain, frustrations and defeats. It's about getting better, in every sense.
Celeste is one of the most entertaining 2D platformers in recent years. It'll defeat you from time to time, but its inviting controls, level design, and presentation will keep you coming back until you persevere and overcome every challenge thrown your way.
Celeste has a couple of hiccups in its aesthetics and tech, but the core of what Matt Thorson and his team have made contains a wonderful story of endurance and resilience for both the characters and the player, that begs not to be missed.
I’m not sure I’ll ever truly finish Celeste. I still have a couple of B-Sides to complete and the C-Sides are likely beyond my skill level. Assist mode is there if I need it, but I’m not ready to admit defeat yet. Neither am I ready for Celeste to be over. I’ll be dipping back into this masterpiece for many months to come.
Celeste provides a deep adventure in the heart of a mysterious mountain. It's brightest moments are not of its platforming elements but the interactivity with its other aspects. Overcoming any challenges along the way affects the story one way or the other and as we get close to the end, the final picture tells the story of a strange and excellent adventure. To sum it all up, Celeste is the proof that simplicity encourages beauty

An incredible game; one you're unlikely to forget thanks to its heavy hitting tones and the absolute resolve of its protagonist who never gives in to the temptation of apathy and despair.
