Resident Evil 2 Reviews
Whether you’re a long time fan or a newcomer, Resident Evil 2 remake is an absolutely fantastic game. It’s the best in the series yet and wholly outshined my most optimistic expectations. It doesn’t supersede the original, but it’s an excellent retelling, a wonderful update, and an excellent experience.
For my money, Resident Evil 2 Remake is right up there with Resident Evil 4 as the best game in the series. It’s the perfect blend of nostalgia and the new, marrying a classic game with contemporary game design, and a prime candidate for those Game of the Year lists. In January! Capcom clearly has no chill.
From top to bottom, Resident Evil 2 is a stellar achievement from a team that obviously loved the source material and went to great lengths to update and enhance it without losing that original magic.
Resident Evil 2 drags an all-time classic horror game screaming into the new generation, and will terrify both fans and newcomers alike
I've done a lot of gushing here, but Resident Evil 2 is the perfect sort of game for gushing. Much like the legendary REmake, this new version of a storied classic was lovingly crafted by people who not only have a collectively sharp eye for what makes an excellent video game today, but also possess a deep understanding of why the original Resident Evil 2 is worth revisiting and what made it a game celebrated to this day. This isn't just an old Resident Evil molded into the new Resident Evil formula. It's a new take on Resident Evil 2 that doesn't feel like it's trying to “modernize” or “fix” the original. It's more of an expensive, ludicrously polished tribute than a remake in the semantic sense, a project that has been in demand for years and quietly pursued for just as long. I'm glad it worked out so well.
Resident Evil 2 is a survival horror masterpiece, and sets an unbelievably high standard for video game remakes. The unrivaled realism, terror, and difficulty creates a tremendous, immersive experience that, honestly, makes other horror games look bad. I can see this game living on forever in speedruns, let's plays, and even discussions for the greatest horror games ever made.
Capcom's survival horror classic returns with improved visuals, new controls and a whole host of monstrous surprises
Capcom has shown the world exactly how classic games should be remade, and its name is Resident Evil 2.
Labelling this new version of Capcom's survival-horror classic a 'remake' somehow feels like an curious understatement.
This game was fantastic and despite it only being January I can definitely see this as a game of the year contender. Spectacular work and a must have.
Capcom didn't disappoint, and we can state the fact: Resident Evil 2 is one of the best games of current generation and simply the best remake ever made.

Resident Evil 2 is an absolutely phenomenal remake, one which is bolstered by the developer's renewed sense of confidence and a newfound sense of direction. Capcom has fully come to grips with what the series should look like in this day and age, and the end result is pure survival horror, retooled and retweaked for a modern audience. The Godfather of survival horror is back.
Resident Evil 2 takes a masterpiece and twists it until it resembles something completely new without betraying the spirit of the original.
The traditions of survival horror have been modernised, resulting in something that's all-too-familiar yet always manages to keep you on your toes.
Resident Evil 2 is much more than a HD update that so many people thought it would be. Just like Resident Evil when it was brought back for the Gamecube, things have been changed around enough to make the game fresh and exciting, even for those Resident Evil diehards who have played the original to death.
Resident Evil 2 is not only an accomplished remake that should serve as the blueprint for how to re-imagine beloved classics, but is an incredible game in its own right- so much so, that it might even stand as one of the very best games this venerated and decorated franchise has delivered to date.
This remake is, without a doubt, the best way to experience Resident Evil 2.
Capcom’s revamped Resident Evil 2 not only sets a new standard for the survival horror genre, it redefines and remasters it
It’s not just a loving restoration but a temple built on newly solid foundations, with emotional beats that genuinely resonate. It sets a new bar for what a video game remake can be, masterfully marrying nostalgia with modernity without quite being a slave to one or the other
Overall, the quality of Resident Evil 2 Remake is of the highest caliber. The frights and jump scares you will experience will make you want to run and hide. The villains of the game are more frightening than ever and you will feel it when you see things for the first time. Coming in at $59.99 for the retail version and $69.99 USD for the Deluxe version. It is available on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 right now so go grab it.
