Critic Reviews for Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition
Arcade Edition is a breath of fresh air for Street Fighter 5, which is finally the game it should have been at launch.
Street Fighter 5 Arcade Edition marks the completion of a transformation from bare-bones fighting game with a rock-solid core to a fully featured example of the genre at its best. The new V-Triggers are sure to shake up the competitive scene, while the nostalgic new modes breathe new life into the single-player fighting.
Street Fighter V moves up several weight divisions, as it puts its launch problems behind it and finally becomes worthy of its iconic name.
A variety of offline modes, a fresh coat of paint, and a big new gameplay addition gives Street Fighter V a new lease on life.
After two years of additions and tweaks, Capcom has finally gotten Street Fighter V into the state it should've launched in. What was only a tournament-ready fighter is now a robust package. A roster of 29 characters, the long-awaited Arcade Mode, Extra Battle, Challenges, a great Training Mode, and solid online play add up to a release that shouldn't be missed for avid fighting game fans.
Finally, that's the game we expected: rock solid playability and a great roster of characters and modes. Either you play offline or online, you'll get a great experience... If you still want to give it a chance.
