Critic Reviews for Tales from Candleforth
Tales From Candleforth impresses with its music, visuals and (mostly) logical puzzles, but falls short in both the story and scares departments.
Tales from Candleforth uses escape room-like mechanics to help its protagonist not only find her missing grandmother and uncover the secrets she left behind, but also to realize her own powers. With creepy imagery, this 2D, hand-drawn game is sure to catch and hold the attention of point-and-click puzzle/adventure gamers.
I think Under the Bed Games can only go up from here - the fact that Tales from Candleforth is their first game is quite impressive. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone who's into escape room games. 📖
Tales from Candleforth is a 2D puzzle game with excellent visuals that tells a horror story set in classic folklore and will keep you glued to the console for almost 4 hours.

While it is guilty of some irksome point-and-click puzzle game pet peeves of mine, Tales from Candleforth is still a neat little puzzle game with gorgeous visuals that you can complete in one sitting.
Even with caveats, Tales from Candleforth is a title that can please point-and-click fans besides offering a good horror atmosphere and varied puzzles. However, even with its compelling and immersive story, the big issue of the game is that it seems incomplete, so I hope that little by little we get other tales that are part of the fictional town Candleforth's folklore book.

Tales from Candleforth is a slightly morbid and short point-and-click, good enough for me to wish that the plural of the title would come true and take the form of a collection of small stories that combine their strengths into a larger work. For now, Sarah's tale pleases, the puzzles mess with our logical associations and the art skillfully combines amazement, enchantment and surrealism, compensating for the feeling that the experience ends prematurely.
