With an incredible amount of content, and a number of gameplay refinements, Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends Complete Edition is the best Dynasty Warriors games in years. It won't convince the haters, but it will have fans saying, "Among men, Lu Bu. Among Dynasty Warriors, Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends Complete Edition."
Strike Suit Zero has a lot of things going for it – a cool story, good combat, pretty visuals, and an excellent soundtrack – but it's let down by poor mission design and a frustrating checkpoint system. Those looking for a space combat game will find a lot to like here, but one can't help but wonder how much better the game would have been with more of a focus on tightly paced, frantic battles, and less on the Suit's ability to transform.
A Realm Reborn is an excellent game and one of the best MMOs on the market, regardless of what platform you're playing it on. PC gamers who already own the game probably don't have a huge incentive to pick this version up, but this is far and away the best version available if you don't have access to a high end PC. If you already own the PS3 version, there's no reason not to upgrade to this version. You'll be glad you did.
MLB 14 The Show may not be a game changer, but it doesn't need to be. It is a great game with enough new features and ideas that it manages to stay fresh despite its problems, and fans of baseball sims will be hard-pressed to find better.
Transistor is a fantastic follow-up to Bastion that features incredible art design, wonderful music, deep, customizable, strong storytelling and one of the best plots in recent memory. It's a thoughtful, beautiful, and well-designed game that should be played by everyone with a passing interest in RPGs. Go buy it. Now.
Wolfenstein: The New Order is a great shooter that balances old school design sensibilities with modern storytelling and excellent production values to produce a Nazi blastin' good time.
Murdered: Soul Suspect has an interesting plot, an intriguing game world, and a lot of cool game ideas, but a host of little problems drag the experience down. Still, fans of a good detective story might want to check it out, provided they can deal with the game's inconsistencies.
EA Sports UFC will undoubtedly appeal to fans of MMA, but a convoluted control scheme, poor tutorials, few modes of play, bad acting, and an offensive use of DLC make this a game for hardcore fans only.
