This final review of Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn has been a roller coaster of conflicting feelings. The end result is of decent quality, despite various structural limitations, and it manages to shape a balanced experience with a substantial amount of content. While it certainly doesn't stand out in terms of character or personality, and numerous narrative questions remain unanswered, the accessible and somewhat enjoyable gameplay compensates for these shortcomings just enough. However, it does leave a bit of a bitter aftertaste.

F1 Manger 2024 has finally managed to enter the much-loved custom career. This raises the bar of competition and presents us with a game with solid foundations, but also capable of renewing itself. A fun, competitive title that puts us to the test in many different situations. Overall, therefore, also this year a highly respected managerial player.

Dungeons of Hinterberg is a fresh and clever take on the dungeon crawler formula, with a unique spin on the idea of vacations and a likeable protagonist. After a few hours we were sucked in by its gameplay loop, even if there's room for improvements in some areas, such as the balance between combat and puzzles and the frequency of small loading times.

Conscript is a terrific survival horror that sticks to the genre while tries to do something new: the brutal setting of the First World War and the absence of classic monsters. The result is one of the best indie horrors of the last decade.

Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess is a blend of genres that demontrates how Capcom is one of the few brave Majors left that can experiment with games in a market of mere clones. Not a top-notch game, but a very consistent one.

Zenless Zone Zero is another center for Hoyoverse, which has managed to create a free-to-play with a simple but not at all monotonous combat system. The variety of characters and actions at our disposal makes every fight fun to play and spectacular to look at, thanks also to a truly incredible technical and artistic sector for a free game.

Trails through Daybreak marks the first time Falcom takes a bet with its franchise, changing its combat system to a degree and some of its gameplay mechanics. The changes are all good for newcomers, which will find an ideal entry point here, but are not so for the longtime fans, who could dislike the action-focused shift and the decrease in the overall level of challenge.

Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble is certainly perfect for passing the time and fans of the series will be happy to have 200 new levels, but 12 years after an unreleased chapter one would have expected a more lively revival in every aspect.

While it may be true that at the same price any Switch owner can buy bigger and more recent first party games, such as Super Mario Bros Wonder, Luigi's Mansion 2 HD is a love letter to the 3DS days and a very enjoyable ride from start to finish even today, for both experienced and green players. It comes expecially recommended if you liked the third episode.

Still Wakes the Deep is a classic walking simulator with few interactions. It's a very linear and guided horror game with a good story and a gameplay that comes from 2010, too simple to leave a mark in this competitive market.

The Monster Hunter Stories HD package will be received very differently depending on which platform you play on: on Sony consoles and PC, these Monster Hunter twist to the Pokémon formula has its right to be, and will mostly appeal to younger audiences. On the other side, Switch players won't get much value out of it.

Vengeance is for Shin Megami Tensei V what Royal was for Persona 5 some years ago: the best possible version of one of the more refined and fascinating JRPGs of the last decade. This is the version to choose if you haven't played it before and the one to replay if you've already dived into the original title.
